Jim Weir’s Mask - January 2002
September 16, 2008 by admin
Jim Weir has finally revealed the Paul Gascoigne type mask which could see him playing again for Saints as early as this weekend. The Saints skipper has been devasted at missing recent matches with a broken cheekbone, sustained only days after returning to training following surgery on his knee. The mask is made of strengthened plastic and is specially moulded to his face, leaving Jim free for selection for the visit of Dunfermline on Saturday.
Meanwhile goalkeeper Alan Miller has signed a three month extension to his contract which will see him stay at McDiarmid Park until the middle of April. The news has delighted boss Billy Stark:
“I am very happy that Alan has decided to stay with us. There was an option for him to return to Blackburn as they have sold their reserve keeper Peter Filan, but credit to Alan, he is enjoying his time here and wants to stay to help the Club.”
