THE SFA COMMUNITY SCHEME AT ST. JOHNSTONE F.C
The S.F.A. Community Scheme at the club has been in operation since 1992 and is jointly funded by The Scottish Football Association, St Johnstone F.C. and Perth and Kinross Leisure.
Community Coach Atholl Henderson has organised a wide selection of football activities for various age groups encouraging local people to become associated with the club as well as enhancing football development in the area.
COACH EDUCATION COURSES
There are several S.F.A. Coach Education Courses for adults planned throughout 2008, designed for anyone 16 years or above, interested in football coaching. Details are:-

AREA DEVELOPMENT SQUADS
On reaching Secondary School age, players are selected to participate in our Area Development Squad Programme, which consists of two blocks of training sessions on Tuesdays at McDiarmid Park, along with several 11-a-side games.
In 2008, there will be 2 groups, at Under 13(first year) and Under 14(second year) and players follow a specially devised training plan to develop the technical, tactical, physical and awareness aspects of the game.
Training sessions are planned as follows:-
Block 1
29th January to 25th March (fortnightly) 5 sessions
Block 2
26th August to 30th September 6 sessions
21st October to 2nd December 7 sessions
SCHOOLS FOOTBALL PROGRAMME
The McDonalds Schools Football Programme offers training and games to 10 different classes in local schools.
This project is designed to encourage both boys and girls to play 7-a-side games and to follow a training programme which promotes a healthy lifestyle and skill development.
Local primaries involved in the first half of 2008 are:-

Other schools will be invited to participate in the Autumn term, along with the Bank of Scotland Soccer One Programme, which is aimed at first year pupils.
BANK OF SCOTLAND MIDNIGHT LEAGUES
We have teamed up with Street Sports for All, the local Community Safety Partnership, to offer local youths a chance to play football on a regular basis, between February 1st and March 29th.
This S.F.A. scheme is sponsored by the Bank of Scotland and sessions will be held as follows:-
Thursday Evenings - N. Muirton
Friday Evenings - Letham/Craigie
Saturday Evenings - Crieff
On Tuesday 2nd April, there will be a area final at McDiarmid Park. Players will then be selected to represent Perth and Kinross in the Scottish Championships.
SAINTS ANNUAL QUIZ
Teams of 4 adults can take part in Saints Annual Quiz, which is planned for Monday 4th February in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park, starting at 7.00pm.
Cost per team is £10, which is payable on the night and application forms should be submitted before 1st February.
